Chapter One Concepts

After reading chapter one; 'Becoming an E-Teacher' in our textbooks, I became pretty excited to learn that the majority of educators have now began to change with the times in most aspects of how they teach. Technology has become so prominent in our society, and now the people who are in charge of molding the future minds have began to harness technology in their own way and use it to their advantage.
The chapter begins by discussing how computers and technology affect students in and out of school everyday, reading that and watching those video's in the module I was sort of taken back by seeing how much technology is intertwined in our everyday life now. I thought to myself, I basically run my life out of my phone, whether it's checking my online classes or my bank account, it's all though some sort of technology.
This chapter spoke about creating a "digital identity" which really caught my interest because it's all about using technology to relate material you'll be sharing with your student, but through common software and tools. Since I was raised while this boom of technology was coming up, I've got a good understanding of how it all works, which will make it easier for me to relate to my future students.
I really related to how technology has become so prominent in the classroom, because even when I was a senior in high school, all the chalk/marker boards we're replaced with this high tech digital board; which none of the teachers really knew how to operate at the time, and still might not know. It just really opened my eyes to how much the times are changing and how tough it might be for older generation teachers to adapt to those changes.

Below, I placed a link that shows links for teachers to get tips on how to make technology work for them in the classroom and a YouTube video showing technology in the classroom Maloy, Robert, Verock-O’Loughlin,Ruth-Ellen, Edwards, Sharon A., and Woolf, Beverly Park (2011).
